Dr. Lochhead attended Brigham Young University for his undergraduate degree and earned his medical degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. Following this, he completed his Neurosugery Residency training under Dr. Robert Spetzler and Dr. Voker Sonntag at Barrow Brain and Spine in Phoenix, Arizona. During his training, he completed infolded fellowships in Complex and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery under Dr. Nicholas Theodore at Barrow Brain and Spine, as well as in Cranial Skull Base Surgery at the International Neuroscience Institute (INI) in Hannover, Germany, under the mentorship of Professor Majiid Samii, MD, PhD.
